Born in Adelaide, and now based between New York City and the Gold Coast, Australia, Becca Gilmartin’s aesthetic spans across the full spectrum of natural beauty to body illustration effortlessly as one of Australia’s favourite makeup artists.
Becca’s work has been featured in publications such as LAUD Magazine, Black Mag, i-D online, RUSSH, Vulkan, Oyster, Vogue Italia Talents, Helmet and Makeup Artist Magazine. Her body work has been a semi-finalist for the Moran Art Prize 2012 and 2013 with her work with Patrick Fileti and Thor Elias. ABIA’s 2014 ‘Makeup Artist of the Year’, Becca has been described as “Australia’s own Pat McGrath of intricate Body Art”.
Becca works her Beauty and Body art into projects with talents such as Grace Jones, Margot Robbie, Ava Max, Kim Petras, Kimbra, Dannii Minogue, Tara Moss, Antonia Kidman, Martin Short, Sydney Dance Company, Imogen Anthony, Sophie Monk, The Presets and Barry Otto. She has been commissioned to work on shows such as Australia’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’, Australia and Germany’s ‘Next Top Model’, Australia’s ‘The Voice’ and ‘X Factor’.
With a passion for education and encouraging artistic freedom, Becca is a regular guest speaker on the NYC and Sydney stages of IMATS, Salon Melbourne, Sydney Beauty Expo, AH&M Trade Show, NZ Beauty Expo, IMAE (Jakarta) and has appeared on Channel 7s The Morning Show. A qualified educator, Becca is a regular guest speaker at Australia and NYCs leading Makeup Schools as well as touring around Australia her unique and sought after course, The Makeup Artist Retreat.
